Rockerzine.com has been providing high-quality rock n’ roll editorial content to it’s readers for over 8 years and was looking to not only redesign their site, but also launch an eCommerce platform to start selling products through their site. It was important to preserve the over 2,000 articles that had earned quality links and traffic over the years while still updating the site URL hierarchy to a more search-engine friendly format. Rockerzine has provided one of the most rewarding client relationships for our team at Franklin Digital.
Our Work
Responsive Web Design
Rockerzine’s old design was far from mobile friendly, and it got to the point where it was affecting conversion. We completely redesigned their platform from the ground up utilizing a custom built WordPress theme. Upon launch we saw a marked improvement in engagement from our mobile users, and an overall improvement to Pages per Visit and Time on Site.
eCommerce, Automated
For Rockerzine’s line of rock n’ roll gift boxes we determined WooCommerce to be the best eCommerce option as more robust eCOmmerce platforms like Magento wouldn’t support the active editorial schedule Rockerzine keeps. The fulfillment, shipping, and email alerts are entirely automated and can easily keep up with the holiday season.
Product & Packaging Design
While we love all that is digital, working with a physical product allows us to engage with our audiences outside of the browser and allows us to expand our client’s brands in even more creative ways. For Rockerzine’s RockBox we helped price and determine the box’s contents, design the stationary & package design, as well as developing exclusive digital content for buyers of the Rockbox.
